Community guidelines

Simple expectations for people sharing experience, asking focused questions, and respecting one another’s time.

Version 1.2 · Last updated: August 9, 2026

In plain language

Come prepared. Keep your calendar current. Respond to requests. Show up for accepted sessions. Share relevant experience without selling anything.

1. Start with a useful purpose

Mentoring works best when the conversation has one clear goal. Mentees should explain what they want to discuss. Mentors should define the topics for which their experience is genuinely relevant and disclose any conflict of interest that could affect their guidance.

2. Keep availability real

Mentors should keep their calendar and time zone current, remove unavailable slots, and avoid speculative availability. If you will be away, pause your availability rather than leaving sessions open.

3. Accept or decline clearly

A request is not a confirmed meeting. Mentors should accept or decline within 48 hours, or before the proposed session if sooner. Accept only when the topic is relevant and you genuinely expect to attend. Repeatedly ignoring requests may result in the profile being paused.

4. Show up — or communicate early

Both people should arrive on time and ready to talk. If you cannot attend, notify the other person and cancel or reschedule as early as possible. Emergencies happen; silence and repeated no-shows are the problem.

Reliability rule: a no-show means being more than 15 minutes late to an accepted session without reasonable notice. The first no-show will usually result in a reminder. Two no-shows within 90 days may lead to temporary deactivation. Six months without meaningful activity may also lead to deactivation until the member confirms that they are active again.

5. Share experience honestly

  • Explain what you have seen, tried, learned, or would consider.
  • Distinguish personal experience and opinions from verified facts.
  • Say when something is outside your experience.
  • Do not exaggerate qualifications or promise outcomes.
  • Leave the other person free to make their own decisions.

6. No selling — at all

Do not use a session to pitch services, paid courses, subscriptions, products, investments, affiliate links, recruitment, or business opportunities. Do not add a member to a mailing list or send commercial follow-ups unless they have clearly asked to receive them.

Relevant examples from your work are welcome. Turning the conversation into a funnel is not.

7. Respect privacy and professional boundaries

  • Ask only for information relevant to the mentoring topic.
  • Do not request passwords, financial details, government identifiers, or unnecessary sensitive information.
  • Do not share someone’s story, contact details, documents, or workplace information without permission.
  • Do not record, transcribe, or add an automated meeting assistant without clear agreement from everyone involved.
  • Do not pressure someone to continue contact outside the platform.
  • Do not use the mentoring relationship to exert romantic, sexual, financial, employment-related, or other pressure.

8. Keep the conversation respectful and lawful

Challenge ideas without attacking people. Harassment, discrimination, sexual advances, threats, impersonation, manipulation, fraud, unlawful content, or demeaning behaviour are not permitted. Different experience levels, careers, countries, accents, and communication styles are welcome.

9. After the session

A short thank-you or relevant resource is welcome. Further sessions are optional and require mutual agreement. Mentors are not responsible for implementing a mentee’s next steps, and mentees are not required to provide testimonials, referrals, work, compensation, or access to their network.

10. Reporting a concern

Report community-rule concerns to arsenhrynevych@gmail.com. For allegedly illegal content, use the subject “Illegal content notice” and identify the content, its location, why you believe it is illegal, and how we may contact you. Do not include more personal information than necessary.

We will acknowledge reports where practical, review the available context, and communicate an outcome when appropriate. Immediate danger should be reported to the relevant local emergency services rather than through the platform.

11. Fair enforcement and appeals

Depending on the seriousness of the issue and the member’s history, we may take no action, provide guidance, issue a warning, limit features, pause a profile, deactivate an account, remove content, or permanently remove access. Serious concerns involving safety, fraud, impersonation, or illegal content may require immediate action.

Where appropriate, we will explain the rule, the main reason, and the action taken. You may request a review within 30 days by emailing arsenhrynevych@gmail.com. We consider context and patterns; the goal is to maintain a reliable community, not to punish an honest mistake or genuine emergency.
